IGN claims insider info on the Nintendo Revolution specs. Bottom line is, it's an evolution of the Gamecube hardware and ends up being a little bit more powerful than the XBox.
Well, it's consistent with what Nintendo's said, but I think people still expected more power than this. I think the expectation was for a 2+GHz core, with subjective power somewhere between the original XBox and the 360. (A lot of this expectation came from the Ars article, I believe.)
Regardless, if these specs are real it pretty much shoots down cross-platform releases for the system. It just isn't playing in the same league horsepower-wise, which is of course both good and bad.
I tell you what, though. Playing the 360 with wireless controllers made me wonder when someone's going to support more than four players. With the issue of wires and physical ports on the console resolved via the wireless, it seems like it's high time we see eight-player games. Just an idea.

People seem to be reacting as though this is big news, but isn't it consistent with what Nintendo has been saying all along?

But Bonk's Adventure is going to play like a dream.
